when the day-to-day of computers, clients and obligation leave me feeling stale and stymied, my go to remedy is oil and brush. nothing gets my bun undone better than shifting from the slick glass iMac surface to canvas, with it's deliciously messy, unpredictable, fluid properties. today i started a new series of paintings promoting the timeless professions of working with our hands. just like the grape pickers from last year, this series shines pride back to the trades, the handmade and non-industrial talents used by the many people often overlooked or taken for granted. some things thankfully, are still best done by hand.
